[Review] Marvel Legends Best of Civil War Giant Man Build-A-Figure (ver. 2.0)

Last December, we received news about the latest Marvel Legends Best of Movie wave: Civil War. With Captain America: Civil War being a worldwide hit, it's hard to imagine Hasbro not doing this wave. It had so many amazing and highly-demanded figures that were either exclusives, part of a crappy two-pack or single-packed in a case of 6; making them difficult to find and expensive to collect. Now, while this wave is exclusive to UK, Asia and some other countries outside the US, note that it costs exactly the same as regular release waves. This means the once-exclusive figures are now a whole lot cheaper. Now, let's take a look at the figures included in this wave!

Case Breakdown:
1x Captain America
1x Winter Soldier
1x Falcon
1x Scarlet Witch
1x Iron Man
1x War Machine
2x Black Panther

Even though it's freaking awesome that most of this figures are actually great, how does the new Giant Man fare?

Good AND bad. The good thing is that collectors who had wanted the Giant Man BAF can now get it at a cheap price but with a more movie-accurate paint for the helmet. The bad thing, however, is that the helmet's the only change from the first version.

While the first version had a darker and dirtier look, this new version is more movie-accurate where the silver is bright and clean (though it is not chrome).

Even though the rest of the body is no different from its predecessor's, I feel a strong urge to talk about the details. The entire body is textured so damn well! I can't believe the amount of effort Hasbro put into creating the texture for the armor and leather! Two thumbs up!

Giant Man: I'm biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig!!!

 Giant Man: Nice kitty?

 Giant Man: Ahh!!

Giant Man: Get him off! Get him off!

Giant Man: And the winner is... Giant Maaaaaaan!

While I had fun posing him with Black Panther for these photos, it was really difficult to get him into dynamic poses because of the boots' design. The toes section are curved upwards like an actual pair of boots. Although it is nice to replicate its original design, the curve causes the figure to tip over easily especially when the ankle pivots and rockers on the figure are pretty loose.

Overall, because of the minor difference in this figure, I would only recommend it to collectors who don't have the first version and have been looking to add this mammoth to his Marvel Cinematic Universe collection.

[This section onwards is just me ranting on Hasbro for the case breakdown. Completely unrelated to Giant Man. Discretion is advised.]

While I do love most of the figures in this wave, it kind of bums me that Black Panther was chosen to be double-packed. BP has long lost his demand since great knockoffs/overrun figures appeared in the Chinese market. Having Scarlet Witch as the double-packed figure would've helped curbed the still-ongoing demand for her since her wave pretty much sucked for MCU collectors. It would be even more amazing if Spider-Man was included in the wave. With him, collectors are very much set for a Civil War setup (less Black Widow and Hawkeye who were already made available in the previous Best of Avengers wave, and poor Vision who hasn't seen light as a Marvel Legends figure). Furthermore, the cost of producing Spider-Man would be a whole lot lesser than BP considering how he wouldn't have accessories and the need to include Giant Man's leg in his packaging. I should probably work for Hasbro.
